14 days left to finish the entire website!
At the time of writing, I have 14 days left to finish building the entire website. It's a bit stressful, but I’ve had an incredible flow over the past two days. The last time I tried updating the design was last year, and I also had 14 days to work with then. That’s how much time you get with the free version—after that, you have to start paying. Since I already have a site on this platform, I’d prefer to avoid paying twice. I didn’t manage to finish the design last time, though. I always start with such high ambitions for the site, and it always ends up with nothing getting done. This time, I’m lowering the bar and reminding myself to be happy just having a site I update every now and then.
That’s really been the issue with my website. I haven’t updated my work since, like, 2016. It’s a little embarrassing since I often teach about the importance of having a solid portfolio (hopefully, my students haven’t Googled me - of course they have!). And since I also use my website as a shop, it actually gets a fair amount of traffic. Speaking of high ambitions, this section I’m calling “Journal” is a pretty high ambition, but I think it’ll be fun to write once in a while and just post sketches, doodles, illustrations without any specific purpose, and random bits that don’t need to be official or polished. For a long time, I’ve used my sketchbook as a kind of journal, painting something from everyday life - usually in watercolor, maybe adding a thought with the date. That’s pretty much what I want this to become.
